I have an HP Notebook with a great music library and want to receive into DJing I have a little experience in Clubs and home parties my problem is I've worked with other people and now I want to do my possess thing and I can't afford to receive a Serato box yet. If a restaurant,club or individual had their possess turntable setup but not a serato would I be able to use my music library with it? also I currently have Mixpad audio mixer,wavepad sound editor and Zulu. We have turntables (SL-1200s) and mixer, but have no idea where to start researching use of software packages/laptops to create beats/music. Any pros out there have any suggestions? My goal is to have fun with my son who loves scratching and beat matching with the turntables while I create some beats for him to work with.

few questions on djing cause i want to receive into it, I have a numark mixer (w/usb hookups) already and I have decent speaker/amp setup. only thing i dont have is turntables. I just wanna learn for fun right now, and look what comes from it. 1. do i need 2 turntables, 1 for each channel or can i use 1 for both channels? 2. what is the normal source of music when djing? I have a new mixer, for my 2 turntables. It also has 2 usb ports, but apart from stating that they can be used as an input source, and that they allow you to direct record on to a computer, instructions say nothing else. I tried to have my computer look them as input ports, but in audio properties no slider to control levels appears. Could somebody help me please?! My mixer is a Konig KN-DJMIXER60, and i am running XP home. Maybe i need a dedicated software?! I am using Adobe Audition 3.0, or Creative Wavestudio...they wont look or use the mixer. HELP!

Im thinking about buying two turntables, a mixer, then serato scratch live. It comes with two timecoded vinyls and then a software that hooks up to your laptop. In that software, does it allow you to do things like loop, effects, and pretty much what im asking is would it allow you to do everything as if you were a digital DJ?

I am contemplating whether I should buy an every in one digital DJ system or two vinyl record turntables. If i bought turntables and a mixer what is everything else I would need and how can i set the turntables up to a laptop to run a DJ Software to feed my music? What free DJ softwares are there? I'm one of the very few men from both sides of the family that has both a mom & dad. My dad has been a good man in our lives. He has provided for the family, took care of everything, make sure we had food, lights, heat and shelter, and in every honesty, I just could not wish for a better dad. But there are times when my dad could be really irriating. So irritating where I wish he would leave and be gone for about 4 weeks. It seems like I could never snooze in the mornings because he likes to arrive up to my room and talk after he gets off work. Sometimes it's about money or my car, but usually, it's nothing important, just BS. I have two CD mixers in my room and it's like, I could never like the comfort of my possess room because he likes to arrive in and fool with it. He enjoys it as much as me it seems, since hes always blastin music in my room. I'm trying to pursue a dj career pretty soon and he was saying that he was going to be either my mentor, or my DJ partner (dad & son deejaying) by being with me as I start djing. My mom had said that his taste for music was whack while my musicial taste was better. What bothers me the most about my dad is that he likes to play with me while I'm in the kitchen. I could be sitting down eating and he'll playfully poke the side of my stomach. He's been doing this for about 3 years or more. He's only kidding but I find that very irritating and uncomfortable. The family is supposed to go to Vegas this summer (again) and I really am not looking forward to it. It seems like months before we leave town, my dad would be every glad and excited, contantsly talking about every the fun we're going to have, but on that same very morning when we about to leave, he be acting every very mean and impatient. He called me an "MF" one time because I had forgot to pack my deodarant. Usually on big events when we supposed to be feeling good, he always messes my mood up by calling me a name, and gets on me like I'm 12 years old. I'm about to be 26 years old, and if I ever holler back or cuss at him, he still would receive upset with me. I'm glad I have a dad, but sometimes I wish I didnt. I look at every these other guys and they seem to have it made, well not made, but easier because they dont have a dad on their back. But does anybody ever felt that way about a parent and is it normal that you wished they werent around sometimes, even if you adore them?

right im a dj i curently use vinyl and want cd decks. ive seen someone connect cd decks and their mixer up to laptop and on the laptop they had what looks like a program that you can use to stream the tracks to a cd deck. what nice of program was this? and how do you connect cd decks and the mixer up to a laptop. is it only specific brands used for it like Pioneer Im pretty sure the setup was: a macbook, Pioneer djm 800 and P cdj 1000's.

I got new turntables and a mixer but for some reason the crossfader and channel faders dont seam to work i've tried the cue gain and what seems to be everything. Is this because im only useing headphones and the crossfader is use only for the output of some type of stereo system?

I have a 3 piece speaker system (2spk,1woof) which is pluged in to my laptop (dv9000) also I have a BCD3000 (mixer/controller) it has a seprate sound card which my Mic is pluged into plus I'm using Virtual Dj for software. Every time I move the cross fader or the bass treb knobs a scratchy sounds comes out of them like your rubbing your palm on a microphone. Anyone know how I cant receive rid of this? The scratchy sound is coming out of the speakers when i move the crossfader and of the knobs plus headphones mix, etc.

Where should I start when it comes to being a dj? I've done an online radio station and talked to a few guys who have there possess setups. I was thinking of getting an American Audio CK 1000 and then maybe an extra mixer just in case. I would probably just play Trance and Progressive, but again, its about starting up.

I have a Behringer VMX 200 Mixer which has been great until recently. The right is not as noisy as the left on channel 1, regardless if I use either the line or the phono sockets on the back. I've opened it up to have a look. The soldered connections and wiring seem fine. The gain knob doesn't feel loose. It's not coming and going as if it were a faulty connection. It's permanently quieter, which is visible on the Level Meter. Apart from that, it's a great mixer so I don't want to waist money on another one if it is something simple. Any help would be most appreciated... I have also tried different inputs to it incase it was not the mixer but a problem with the input device itself. It was the same for them every.

I have a Stanton SA-12 craze that i haven't used in a while. Got it out the other day for the heck of it and the mixer wasn't receiving/showing and signal from my tables (Numark TT200). I was in phono and my OS2 was locked etc. Any ideas??

I just spent a ton of $ on ableton live 8 and the akai apc-40 mixer. I'm planning on becoming a dj, but I'm curious if there is a good source for free loops or super cheap ones. I'm not looking to spend a ton more money at the moment on loops/samples. Any idea where I can find some for free online with something such as a creative-commons license maybe? really want to be a DJ at Lizard Lounge, and I was wondering how I could be one. I have been mixing for about 3 years. I mix with Mixmeister Studio, and Fusion, Virtual DJ, Fruity Loops, Acid, and Audacity. I have mixtapes going around the DFW area called RollingStoned. So yes I have experience, I'm just trying to keep up for good mixers and EQs. Hello. I need some free good software (or below 20$) that I can use for: CGI/Animation Audio Recording DJ Mixer Music Writing

I`m stuck between the idea of keeping my current setup for a new one but can`t decide. Size & weight are 2 factors... I`d prefer to go mass storage hardware players with cd drawers, usb(ie pioneer mep7000, cortex, numark hdmix etc) opposed to software program dependencing. ie traktor,serato,pcdj etc. Condensing my cd collection to 2 hardrives(fat32) at 320kbps(cbr) per track+back up hd will take some time, but i`ve heard thats the best way if using mp3 files. I also believe to go for a hd thats at least 7200rpm(min) from 500g up. Converting my music will cause slight sound loss but mixer eq tweak will compancate that. I basically want a good system that will fit in a 19" flightcase with mixer for mobiles, The one i have right now is 2 cdjs & 10"mixer coffin flightcased.
